For all clients currently using Scorpion to support their email marketing, an important change is coming that will improve the quality of your contact lists and campaigns. Starting [Date], subscribers will need to complete a two-step opt-in process to receive promotional emails from your business.

- A subscriber shows initial interest in your promotional content.
- If the subscriber hasn't opted in, the system will automatically send them a confirmation email to secure their opt-in.
No action is required on your part, and this process is mandatory.

You will see a new status in your email contact list called "Pending Opt-In," which indicates that the individual has not completed the second step of the opt-in process. The customer will not receive promotional marketing emails until they complete the second step, but you can resend the opt-in confirmation email.
Why We're Making This Change
Google and Yahoo have enforced stricter guidelines regarding promotional email marketing, and we are improving our opt-in process accordingly. The intention is to not only avoid adversely affecting sending reputation and bounce rates, but to actually improve lead and customer engagement.
